| - Abide Yoga is right up the street from me and I love the laid-back Larchmere style of the studio and instructors. Abide's classes have a great blend of both yin and yang postures (You can find a strong vinyasa flow or a slow opening in the hips and hamstrings, depending on the class and sometimes even in the same class.), yoga philosophy that's both subtle and understandable, and an ambiance that makes you want to grab a cup of the tea provided and sit and chat with fellow practitioners all afternoon, cozy as can be.
Last Saturday, my wedding day (yay!), I hired Hope to lead a private class at Abide to me and my bridesmaids before the craziness of the day hit. What Hope gave us was a very thoughtful grounding, heart opening, and empowering sequence. As a yoga teacher myself, I picked up on the subtleties of poses and verbal cuing that were facilitating the grounding, opening, and empowering--all things you really need on your wedding day! We sweated just enough, worked away residual tensions, and opened our hearts to possibility and opportunity because of Hope's thoughtful flow. All in a very beautiful space in lovely Larchmere. It was perfect, an incomparable start to my wedding day.
I highly recommend Abide Yoga for its very reasonably priced and extremely good privates, as well as for the attainable and multifaceted yoga classes you can find there.
