| - Every time I go to Sunflower Market, I say, "Why don't we shop here more often?"
They aren't kidding about the "silly" prices. $2.39 for a huge tub of *organic* sour cream? Yes, please.
The cashiers are always so friendly, and is it weird that I love how bright and sensitive their card swipers are? (Probably.)
I suppose I don't go to Sunflower more often because they're great for things that aren't on my usual shopping list, but after that it becomes a mixed endeavour. For example, yesterday I tried to buy lasagna noodles, which Sunflower used to sell in bulk. Unfortunately, all I could find were lasagna noodles made with rice flour. This is great for those who want a special noodle, but I just wanted something that would be a staple item at any other grocery store.
But Sunflower does have a great selection of items you're less likely to find elsewhere (or so much of in one place), including bulk foods, gluten-free items, vitamins and supplements, vegan/vegetarian goodies, and their selection of fresh herbs seems more varied and bonny than everyone else's. (And for only $1.88 per package.)
One bit of advice: get the free Sunflower app for your smartphone. And then be sure to check it weekly for specials, which is the part I always forget. Maybe I can't do all of my shopping at Sunflower, but it would make sense to do a lot more of it there. (Except for bread. For that, go to BonJour Bakery a few doors down!)
