  • Hole in the Rock has quickly become my favorite go to spot for a nature fix! It is a slight vertical hike up a short trail that takes mere minutes to get to. If you hike because like me you love to be outdoors, enjoy the beauty Arizona has to offer and are not out to set any records in stamina or cardio then this is the place to go. Hole in the Rock is tucked in the middle of Papago Park, located between Desert Botanical Garden and the Phoenix Zoo. It is surrounded by trails, a small pond, a few ramadas and plenty of places to park. It is the perfect place to escape the noise of a busy day, an ideal place to bring friends and family members from out of town, and a great place to go if you're new in town. You can watch the airplanes flying in and out of Phoenix Sky Harbor International airport, see the pyramid tomb of Arizona's first governor, the zoo lights in December, watch fireworks on the 4th, breathe in the sweet aroma of the desert after the rain, and watch the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets in Arizona! Hole in the Rock, a must see in AZ!
