Soon after the experience I reviewed a few months ago, I started receiving monthly bills from CL. I phoned them and they concurred that I shouldn't be receiving a bill as my service was indeed canceled. The bills are double what I was being billed when I actually had service. The representative i spoke with admitted that this was an odd mistake that was entirely a glitch in the CL system. He said he was unable to help me resolve the issue and after 40 min on the phone transferred me to another department who also was not able to help me. I've now been told by CL they don't know how to correct the issue and that every month I will have to phone in to have the bill reversed/credited.
I will try to file a complaint with BBB next and consumer affairs.
Sep 2017: I received just about the absolute worst customer service I've ever had with an internet provider. I've been a perfect paying customer for 1 year and phoned them to transfer service to my new address. They told me I'd have to pay more for slower speed even though it's a short distance from me. When I phoned back later to confirm that's what I would do I was trying to explain things to one of the reps and her was literally having some sort of loud party in the background and kept saying very strange things into the phone and when I asked him if he could hear me he wasn't listening and was busy talking to other people then he transferred me to someone else and told me my account had already been canceled because I'm moving and that it was too late to make changes. Then hat person refused to let me speak to a supervisor and told me they'd have to start completely new with a new account and they would need to run a hard credit check which impacts your credit negatively. All this despite never having been late on a bill for the duration of my service with them.
