| - Went to the Wicked Spoon 3/2012 and the line was out into the casino. We had taken our son there for graduating from high school. The food was the best i ever had! It was so good that my wife and I decided to take my other son there when he came from Alaska.
I was skeptical when I saw that there was no line a 6:pm on a Friday night. What the heck!??! It was $45 per person (after tax) plus 10% tip for 4 people. About $50 per person.
The food all had a great flavor (bone marrow? Really? My dogs love bone marrow, but I prefer steaks) and the names on all the food are definitely gourmet names. However, like other reviews, I was not overly impressed with the food. Keep in mind that for $25 per person, I can go to the Rampart and get all the rib eye and prime rib and sea food I can eat and they have great deserts.
So talking about deserts, The Wicked Spoon has some good deserts, but where was the tiramisu? Where is the chocolate mousse (they only had sugar free)? Where is the bananas Foster? Even the cookies were hard, and talk about attitude, I was served ice cream by a guy that looked at me with an attitude when I asked for a second scoop of ice cream! I expected a, "Sure, NO PROBLEM, SIR!!" I should have ruined his night and ordered five single cups!
I would avoid this buffet and spend the extra $10 per person at the Bacchanal, or better yet, go to a local's casino like the Alliante, the Rampart or the Red Rock.
To the buffet manager: What happened to this place? It used to be so good?
To the casino manager: I would fire the buffet manager if I were you. You need fresh staff.
