  • I've been wanting to check out this museum forever and was really excited when we finally got the chance in a kid free mini vacation. I thought the admission was a little pricey, but to be fair it's on par with the Carnegie museums in the area. I liked how it was set up in chronological order and I loved the video room with headphones and subtle lighting. I also liked the mix of photographs and historical info in addition to the art. Now the bad: the elevator was out of order so we had to go up 7 flights of stairs to start going they the exhibits. After a night at a concert where we were up late and drinking, that super sucked. I also didn't really care for the chow exhibit. I realize he was a friend/benefactor or Warhol's, and his pieces were interesting, but I just didn't really care about him or his work. Also the cards labeling the pieces often had basic typos or spelling errors, which is a minor infraction but I would think someone there would proofread that kind of stuff. The staff appeared to be primarily young, college aged kids who looked completely disinterested. There was zero interaction between the them and the visitors and too much loud interaction between employers, which detracted from the experience for me. I don't want to look at famous pop art that takes me back to 1966 while hearing a whiney 20 something complain about her boyfriend at top volume. I loved the option to create your own art and I found the museum store to be absolutely phenomenal. I will definitely be back.
