| - It's been 4 years already?? My how time flies when you are drinking great beer!
It's definitely time for some updates, since my original review was written just after their grand opening.
The tap room has come a long way - they recently upgraded their bar stools (they have backs now!) and added new tables, which created more seating. There are still those horrible red stools in the middle, but I'd like to think those may be the next to get upgraded. :)
Bad Beat offers a fantastic variety of different styles of beer. There should be something for everyone, whether you prefer IPA's, stouts, porters or something else. Their Hoppy Times IPA is my go-to and is a great west coast style. They've also brewed quite a few New England style IPA's - I can only enjoy a few sips because this style is just not for me (but they do a great job!). I am a big fan of some of their special releases like Morning Payoff (especially the bourbon barrel aged version), The Heater, Smooth Call, and most recently Cream and Sugar.
The staff are all friendly and helpful, if you have any questions about the beer they are happy to help. They host a weekly trivia night on Thursdays and music bingo twice a month. Both events are super fun and you can win free beer!
Did you know you can host a private event at Bad Beat?! We actually had our baby shower here and rented the entire brewery for 3 hours. It ended up being the absolutely perfect day and I couldn't have chosen a better venue - we hired a local taquiza who provided tables and chairs, which we set up back in the brewery. The taquiza set-up out front and everyone had a fantastic time. We received a ton of compliments from people who didn't even know this brewery existed, and I'd like to think they will go back.
If you aren't in Henderson, they may seem a bit off of the beaten path, but trust me - it's worth the drive! You can enjoy a few beers, play some shuffleboard and then take beer to-go home with you (cans, bottles and growlers!). I really enjoy supporting our local breweries and helping grow the Las Vegas beer community!
