  • I normally don't like to leave less than amazing reviews for places, but my experience living here for the past 9 months has been exactly that -- less than amazing. Prior to moving to Tempe from California for school, I had done a lot of research on apartments, as I couldn't just drop by one day, I had to plan my trips. So when I was able to take a weekend in April of 2017 and come out here, I originally visited another complex which turned out to look like a complete dump. While waiting at that place, I found Eden on Yelp and we immediately came over as soon as that other tour was over. When we got here, Gaby assisted us. She was knowledgable and friendly, and luckily had one single 2bd/2ba unit that was exactly what my roommate and I needed, so we put in our deposit and did everything necessary to hold it. Fast forward to May, a week before we were to move in and I get a call from Chanel, the manager at the time, to ask me if I would consider pushing back my move-in date because of pests. Seeing as I was moving from out of state and my family had to request time off of work to come help me, we couldn't do that. The family that occupied the unit before had left a nice farm of roaches all over, which I didn't know until I had to ask over and over again what kind of pests were in our unit. Chanel didn't want to say, and it was like pulling teeth trying to get an answer. So she said they already started treating the unit as soon as the family moved out, and they would continue to do so the entire week before we moved in A week later we move in, and we couldn't take a step without hearing the crunch of a roach. They were even on the counters, in the fridge/freezer and in the cabinets. We didn't get a visit from pest control for another two weeks so my roommate and I spent that time doing their job for them. In addition to the roaches, the dishwasher also wouldn't open and there were coffee stains in the cabinets (????). Multiple things were broken and dirty. It didn't even look like maintenance or the property manager (or whoever is in charge of it) did anything to make us feel welcome in our new home. So we just made note of all the broken/damaged items on our move-in sheet and turned it in. Not too long after we moved in, Chanel left, which was fine with me because she was extremely unprofessional and apathetic when I would email her about the issues we had in our unit. She offered absolutely nothing for the extreme inconvenience. Fast forward 6 months later, and we FINALLY had maintenance come address the issues listed on our move-in sheet and Gaby was also gone, replaced by a temporary manager, Jasmined and leasing agent, Rafael (Jasmined was also gone a few short months later). They were a great team and I wish Jasmined had stayed. She offered my roommatw and I the option to move out by the end of December without being penalized because of all the issued we'd been having. Rafael is awesome though. He's attentive, responsive, and friendly. The new leasing agent is also nice, so I hope they stay and are able to make things better for all of their residents. As of early February 2018, we have still had a few roach visitors, even though we had pest control every week for the first 7 months of our lease. They did treat multiple units in our building but it's still gross. We also had a ton of water leaking through our hallway ceiling and wall in the afternoon two days ago. We called maintenance and we didn't get someone to look at it until a full 24 hours later. By the time he came, the water was also leaking in our hallway bathroom, from the inside of other parts of our hallway walls, and multiple water bubbles had formed in our ceiling and walls. The ceiling around the AC vent has started cracking a little and it looks like it could have collapsed if any more water puddled up in there. Aside from our personal unit issues, sometimes there are sketchy people who don't live herehanging out by (drinking and smoking) and diving into the dumpsters at night. I have also been approached some strange men at night while walking my dog, so I feel like I always have to watch my back. I just wish the common grassy areas and walkways were better lit and maybe saw night patrol more often or something. While there are some nice things about this property -- great walkability, good sized pool, pretty quiet, mostly friendly neighbors (aside from a few who aggressively yell and cuss at their kids and spouses for everyone on the property to hear), mini gym and good sized laundry room -- I will not be renewing my lease and have been trying to get out since September. Things just haven't worked out that way, but my lease is up at the end of May . The pricing is decent, but for a little bit more I'm sure you can find somewhere that's nicer with less issues to worry about.
