  • This ABC station is very unprofessional. When they report on a story that includes law enforcement, they refer to them as "COPS." With the pressures law enforcement is having to face, I would hope that these news casters would understand their plight by giving them the respect they deserve, by referring to them by the title they worked so hard to get. I wonder what they call the police officers when then they need them to respond to an emergency they might have. When I hear them using the word "COPS", they sound just like the low life criminals they report on. Well. They're still doing it. Referring to the Police as "COPS." I think I'd feel better if they would refer to their fellow reports as "THE KINGS OF EXAGGERATION." Or, Firefighters as "HOSE DRAGGERS." Or, Politicians as "LIERS and CROOKS." If they're going to continue this kind of "LOW BROW" slang, I'd like to see them go all the way. While they're at it, hire some gang members, so they can get all the different street terms, and use them in the correct context. I can't believe these people. Now, they're quoting THOMAS JEFFERSON! Really? That's all they have in an effort to try to save face for one of their reporters being denied entry to a Sheriff's news conference. They failed to use another one of Tom's quotes: "The only thing you can believe in a news paper is the advertisements." Now, a Phenix Police officer has been shot, and killed in the course of his duty. These knuckle heads still continue to call our officers "Cops." Come on. Start showing some respect. Have you ever noticed, most of the stories they report on is reported as "WE JUST FOUND OUT." Who are they trying to fool? They put latest news on their mobile news web site, all day. It's just funny how they never reference those earlier news casts. BAD FORM! I'm not one bit surprised this stations news casters won't come to terms with the times. Anyone who reads the news these days can see law enforcement is under attack. If your any kind of human being, you'll put all those things you said about receiving that citation you got from the traffic officer aside. I don't care who you are, you have to feel for the officers who were ambushed, wounded, and murdered. Please don't call them COPS! Give them the respect they deserve. If you don't like the way the police have to do their job. APPLY FOR THE POSITION YOURSELF! I'd like to see you do it!
