| - You guys...this place is on FLEEK. Can I just say I noticed a huge change in my disposition, my attitude, range of motion and gratitude after I left. I have had a TON of massages from California to DC and Asia, but this one is definitely at the top of the list. December is busy season at my job (high stress, demanding clients, closing deals before the fourth quarter ends) and I needed some me time. And i mean ME time...not selfie time, let me check the gram, then buy something on gilt, but some time to actually get in touch with my body and mind.
The building is a bit unassuming but hey, character, I can dig it. The second you walk in, the lights are dim, soothing music and fresh/relaxing aromas all over. They sell a bunch of skin care products that seem really good (I haven't had a facial here) but their products are all natural, small batch, local source...the hipster/millenial/I only shop at whole foods vibe...and lets face it, more and more of us are subscribing to that newsletter so don't you snub your nose at me, I know you've had kale something or other within the last two days and thought about a juice cleanse.
I scheduled a 90 minute integrative massage which combines deep tissue and swedish which is perfect for me - I like it pretty firm (that's what she said) but not a true deep tissue (unless it is more therapeutic/rehab) because sometimes I'd rather relax during my massage and not cringe in pain. But you do you.
I believe my therapists name was Marielle? Mary Ellen? I feel really bad because I cannot exactly remember her name but her card is in my car ..and it is just too far away. She was amazing! She is an older petite woman, and I was worried she wouldn't be able adequately get all the knots out but she was great. She felt how tense my shoulders were and used a hot towel to loosen my muscles. During the session she even used a complimentary hot stone because...I think she either felt bad for me or wanted a bigger tip...either way it was great, and she got that tip.
Met all the requirements and more of a professional spa - relaxing, accommodating, asked about my needs, any health concerns, checked in periodically to see if I was ok, gave me some tips about how to relieve stress, had tea before and after with some freshly grated ginger, class act. *thumbs up emoji* *100 percent emoji* *green tea emoji*
