Walking into Paul's Club the first thing we saw was a guy checking IDs, who told us that as long as we didn't hug him, we were good to go. The second thing we saw was a giant tree lit up by white Christmas lights. If you squinted, you barely noticed that the branches were either glued or cemented in place.
The bar ran the length of the establishment, and four or five bartenders bounced back and fourth between patrons, waiting for the inebriated to pass by so they could ask for stories. Chairs and tables lined the wall opposite of the bar, where groups of people collected to drink.
The background music was subtle, and easily forgotten amidst the lively conversations taking place. Overall the bar was clean, with a moderate noise level. Bartenders were friendly and cheerful. Definitely a class above some of the other bars visited that night.
I ordered a Malibu Bay Breeze, and they topped it off with a lime which was perfect as it added a brightness that the drink doesn't usually have, and the acidity popped against the tartness of the cranberry and sweetness of the pineapple.
