| - I'm not big on taking my cars to dealerships - they cost more than your trusted neighborhood mechanic. BUT, I will take my car there for recall and warranty work.
Smart's facilities are nice and clean. They make sure you're comfortable if you decide to wait around. It seems like everyone has snacks and drinks available now, and Smart is right there with them.
The staff are very friendly. I was lucky to talk to a tech about some issues I was having doing work on my own. I got some good advice that saved me a lot of money by not having to bring it in. When I brought my car in for warranty work, I was warmly welcomed. While I know it's good customer service, I wasn't a fan of them looking for other things that I could spend money on. For example, I had the wheel covers off my car for brake work I had been doing. The guy checking me in offered to order me a new set, since they were "missing". No thanks, I'm good. He persisted to point out other services I could get (the 100k mile service, any oil changes, etc.). Pass, thanks. But I get it - other folks might like that attention to detail and appreciate being reminded of what they should be doing. To me, it felt like a sell job. But that's for me to deal with, I understand they should be doing that.
Overall, a very good experience. They know what they're doing.
