I didn't see Dr. Jorge so I'm reviewing this as a general for Apex Dermatology. Long story short, I convinced myself I had skin cancer lol but I was freaking out, my boyfriend insisted I get it checked out (because i was freaking myself out so much) so I looked to see who my insurance covered and I wanted to stay local but those a$$hats couldn't get me in until November (new patient; have NEVER been to a dermatologist in my life -I'm 27). So I called Apex's office in Painesville/Chardon and the receptionist or whomever took my call was SO PLEASANT. I told her what was going on and she said they'd be able to get me in the following week -awesome. When I asked if there was a cancellation if I could get a call, she said "well we could get you in sooner at one of the other offices if you're interested?" And I asked "what's the Mayfield office have?" She said "I can schedule you for tomorrow at 240pm with Dr. Moore". Of course I took the appointment. Mind you, Mayfield is about an hour drive for me and I had to work the next day so I ended up going into work at 5am (because I'm not using paid time off- nope not happening). So I get to the Mayfield office and I had already printed out and completed the new patient forms that the lady I spoke to told me how to get to online. I was in the lobby for less than 10 minutes before I was taken back. Did the whole medical history with the assistant and it was less than 10 minutes before I saw Dr. Moore. He was a little less than... charismatic... but nonetheless professional and quickly said he didn't think my suspect spot was skin cancer - what a relief (I'm serious people. I'd diagnosed myself with basal cell carcinoma before I even made the appointment lol I've tanned in tanning beds quite a bit, I'd gotten burnt in April and this spot had been there since and wouldn't heal). He told me my options (medicate or biopsy right then and there to find out for sure) and I chose to medicate first (why scar my lovely skin for no reason?). So I was with Dr. Moore for probably about 10 minutes, my scripts were sent to my Pharmacy and that was that. My appointment was at 240pm, remember? I got there a little early (like 230) and was literally walking out to my car at 258pm. THE whole staff was lovely and friendly and they were efficient and I love efficiency. I LOVE that I can access my visit summary, request refills or information from the office all online. It's great. The a$$hats here in Ashtabula can suck it. Now... to see if this spot goes away. If it does, Dr. Moore said just give him a call (the office) and let him know and cancel my follow appointment which is in 3 weeks. So glad I went to Apex! :)
