Great place to take out-of-towners for the bull riding! I seriously miss the old Buffalo Chip building with it's dark wooden walls and back bar. The new building is beautiful and they are paying for it with increased food and drink prices! But if you are looking for a cool place to take the kids or your mother in law, this is it. On Wednesday's they have the qualifying for the rodeo. Friday night is the big show. The purse (winnings) must be some serious money because bull riders come from all over and up from Mexico. They have built more grandstand seating so you can sit all the way around the ring.
Satellite bars are conveniently placed so you can get another beverage without having to go inside every time.
It's one of the coolest places to people watch as well. You have your Creekers - the artists, Cowboys, and Indians (and their dogs), you have the folks from Scottsdale, Desert Mountain and those who make the trek up from Phoenix, all smooshed together and having a great time.
Food is ok. Smoked meat, grilled sausages, burgers. All a lot more expensive than it used to be. But a friendly staff.
