| - A few days ago I decided to come here and get my nipples pierced. I was really nervous about what the pain might be like and if it the whole process would go smoothly. I didn't really know what to expect, so when I had a great experience I was so relieved!
First, I called on the phone and asked a few questions in the afternoon. The girl over the phone was really nice and easygoing. She was very informative and professional. I got a good vibe.
Later that day I went in and was greeted by the piercer. His name was Mike. He was kind and answered some more of my questions without a problem. I filled out the consent form and then used the bathroom. The bathroom was clean which I was impressed with.
Mike took me back to the piercing room, they offered to close the drapes to the viewing window that showed through to the lobby. That was comforting for privacy since there was a young girl with her mother waiting to be pierced sitting out there, could've been a little bit of an awkward audience...
Mike used a purple marker to show me where he planned to pierce me to make sure it was where I wanted. I'm really happy with the titanium jewelry they use. I'm allergic to nickel, and titanium is a great nickel free jewelry. I also read it's not magnetic so I won't have to worry at an airport security.
Mike offered me to have a tandem piercing since there was another piercer available. I thought that was pretty cool. I decided not to do it, it sounded too overwhelming for me. But it was definitely a cool option!
I laid down on the piercing table and Mike prepared me for the piercing, told me to take a deep breath in and would push it through when I exhale. The first nipple didn't hurt, just felt like something went through. I was happy for no pain. He checked it out after he inserted the jewelry and made sure it went alright.
After a couple minutes he did the second nipple and this time I had some pain. It was bearable for sure, it felt like someone pinched my nipple for a few seconds. The adrenaline rush wore off on the second one so I guess that's why they offer a tandem. It wasn't a big deal though, I have a high pain tolerance. He checked out the second piercing and it looked fine. He offered to have me sit and wait until I felt comfortable driving afterwards, he was really caring.
It's been a few days now and the healing process has been great! The swelling is going down already and I have only felt minimal stinging occasionally. When I wear a shirt it doesn't hurt, I haven't had discomfort.
The whole time Mike made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I had been nervous and it was a big relief to be in a calm environment. I felt like Mike was passionate about piercing and that made my experience enjoyable and exciting. I didn't feel like I had to worry about anything. It was a wonderful experience.
Piercings usually freak me out, but my experience with Mike at The Piercing Shop was nothing but happy and exciting. I would recommend any of my friends or family to go here, they have a great staff and they put their customers first. I was really glad I decided to come here and that I didn't chicken out in getting my nipples pierced after years of backing out. Definitely a 5 star experience!! Thanks!
