| - Visited this oddly located martini bar for a friends 30th birthday. It is attached to a Comfort Inn (for those of you who need to crash). Not a bad place, not awesome either though.
The atmosphere is nice. There are two bars. One is in a cozy room with a fireplace. The other is long, narrow and a bit uncomfortable. It was very loud in here and hard to hear people speaking. Music wasn't so good unless you like crap. There's an outdoor patio with heat for smokers. I hung out there for awhile because it was much quieter and low key. Although, the group I was with has no idea what 'quiet' and 'low key' actually mean. (And neither do I when I'm with them).
The place was very busy. It was Saturday night, afterall.
Drink service was extremely s...l...o...w. We're talking snail's pace for the reals. The bartenders were super friendly but the few times I ordered a drink for myself I felt like I was being ignored for wayyy too long of a time. I swear, I stood there with money in my hand for over 15 minutes the first time I tried ordering. Thank goodness for friends' dads who order (and pay!) for everything and had the balls to whistle and wave at the staff when they ignored us. He tips well, so they didn't seem to mind.
Very long martini list. I didn't partake because martinis are usually not my thing. Only because I have a really hard time SIPPING anything. It's a bit of a problem actually. I stuck with beer, margaritas, rum + cokes. Beer selection is poor if you're a beer snob. The "best" thing they offer is Blue Moon. Yikes.
They do offer food here. Friends dad ordered a bunch of pizzas and they were really NOMMY. Thin crust, lotsa garlic - the kind that you shouldn't eat if you're planning on finding a random to crash at the upstairs hotel with. So yeah, pretty freakin' good.
Who knows, I may come here again if forced to.
