Disappointment does not even begin to describe the feeling we felt as we progressed through our 11 course omakase.
There was very little variety between the courses with 4-5 courses of the 11 course meal consisting of 3 thin slices of fish (we got Spanish mackerel and red snapper each twice) with some sauce drizzled over. The sauce on many of the courses could be best described as overly sweet soy sauce that overwhelmed whatever taste the fish would have had.
Unlike most sushi omakase's where the meal focuses on the nigiri, there was exactly one nigiri course with 5 pieces. The most disappointing part of the night was probably the salmon nigiri with cream cheese. I don't think I've ever seen a respectable omakase serve nigiri with cream cheese.
Overall, the service was fast and friendly, but I strongly recommend anyone looking for decent sushi to look elsewhere. For $130/person, you can eat at Michelin starred sushi restaurants and have a much much better experience.
