| - Went here for an impromptu date with the hubby. Slow Saturday evening and just wanting to get out of the house. Odd how we got here, hubby wanted to have dinner, I just wanted to sit somewhere and be able to access WiFi. Did a search on Yelp for dining places for places that offer internet access, and this popped up. Alas, no WiFi :(
The Venue:
In a mini stip mall, right by Two Hippies on Baseline and Z Cafe. With enough parking spaces. It was just hubby and I when we got to the place at around 8 pm. It was a very quiet evening. Place was clean, adorned with Thai decor. At the entrance, glass cases of Asian ware most likely for sale.
What we had shared:
Golden Tofu, $4.95 - Fried tofu served with sweet & sour sauce topped with crushed peanuts. REVIEW: Just okay. About 1 inch pieces of tofu. Crispy on the outside and soft consistency on the inside. Not too oily. Pretty plating with edible veg trimmings. Would have preferred peanut dipping sauce instead of what tasted like bottled sweet and sour sauce.
Pad Thai Delight, $8.95 - Sautéed glass noodles with homemade Pad Thai sauce, egg, bean sprouts, green onion and fried tofu, served with ground peanut on the side. REVIEW: This was delicious and tasted like what Pad Thai should. You can taste the fish sauce and tamarind juice, but not too overpowering. First time I've had this dish with glass noodles. The combination of the bean sprouts with the thin noodles marries well.
Mango Delight mango with sweet sticky rice, $4.50 - REVIEW: Ample amount of sticky rice with a mild taste of coconut milk and sweetness. Perfect amount of slices of ripe Manila mangoes. Delicious! Somehow, I still miss the coconut cream that other Thai restos serve on top of this dessert
Total Bill $26++, plus tip. Not bad for dinner for 2 people.
