| - Our plan was to head to Lotus of Siam and on our way there, we found out that they were closed on weekdays between 2:30 - 5 pm. Damn. While heading back to the strip, we found out that Wicked Spoon was also closed between 2:30 - 5 pm and we passed on spending $60 each for Bacchanal. Instead we found ourselves back at Aria and decided to give the Buffet at Aria a try.
We missed the lunch cut-off at 3 pm by 20 minutes, so we paid the dinner price at $37.99 per head. The buffet's food area is not as comprehensive as Bacchanal, but still offered plenty of selection for indulging. If looking from left to right, they have Sweets, Asian, Italian, Pizza, Mediterranean, Tandoori, Latin, Carvery, and Diner. Two islands in the middle of it all have the Fish Market and Salad. I was pleasantly surprised with the seafood variety available: steamed crab legs, peelable shrimp, clams, mussels, seared ahi tuna, cooked salmon, seafood paella, sushi, and more. I was also pleasantly surprised that they have Coke Zero available from their offerings of Coke drink products!
Other than the seafood, I filled up on prime rib (so yummy with fresh horseradish too!), creamed corn, mac and cheese, and spinach dip. If you stop by the Salad area, they have fresh fruit juice and thai tea ready for dispensing. At the end of the meal, I was slightly disappointed with their desserts. While I enjoyed the oreo whoopie pie, tiramisu cup, cookies and Merlyn Monroe popcorn (white chocolate drizzled popcorn), their gelato and ice cream flavors were just okay. I usually like to end with a fruit sorbet, but they only had coconut and mandarin yuzu. Coconut - I'm allergic to, and mandarin yuzu - super tart. BF got the cherry cola and pistachio and loved the pistachio one so much - definitely get the pistachio if you can!
