| - My first time here, I was immediately hooked! First, it's a small adventure finding this place. When you think of going somewhere to drink mead, one would never think about driving into a remote business park. Well my friends....this place is definitely in a small business park so if you think you're lost, you're heading in the right direction. Second, once you find the place, you'll walk into a tasting room that is pretty small but extremely intimate. Everyone talks to everyone here. Third, the owners are typically here pouring the mead, chatting up their customers. They're very knowledgeable and friendly guys. They are definitely one of the best features of this place.
Now to talk about the best attraction: the mead itself. Their menu does have few classic flavors that hang around throughout the seasons. Other flavors revolve depending on the season. I appreciate new and different flavors since it keeps the palate entertained. Some of the mead has a thicker consistency while others have a lighter, aerated texture The mead's flavor is strong and precise. An example: Have you ordered a pomegranate beverage that ends up tasting like fruit punch, or something to this effect? Here at Arizona Mead Company, if they say their drink is something pomegranate, it tastes exactly that. They have an apple pie mead right now. It's like a dessert party in my mouth.
Other things to note, they do not have food here so do not expect it. They're currently open on Friday and Saturday afternoons to evenings only, and they close around 9pm. If you're still hanging around at 9:30pm, they will stay open until you leave. This place is definitely a treasure!
