| - I came here for a facial last week all because of Fabfind and Janna S.' fabulous review. The salon, set in the heart of Yorkville is nestled in the Cumberland walkway across the cinema. I was 15 minutes late for my appointment and running in, I was greeted very hospitably by a lovely lady manning the desk. She said it was no problem that I was late, but methinks it's a mid-afternoon one-off case. She offered me a drink, while I took a quick glance around, taking in the immaculate and unpretentious environment.
I can't remember the name of my facialist (black hair, soft-spoken...nevermind.), and it's too bad because she was phenomenally professional. I won't get into details about my skin, but while it was extremely thorough and relaxing, it was at times slightly painful and my skin was very red in places for a few hours thereafter.
While she had a few products to recommend, she wasn't pushy at all, and I left feeling a little more informed about my skincare process. Granted I don't go for facials on a regular basis, however, I thought I had it all figured out.
I finally found Zoya nail polish in Toronto, and they have a ton of selection for $11 (if they don't have the colour you want, they can order it for you). The staying power is amazing, and the polish doesn't contain the evil 3 chemicals (DBP, Formaldehyde and toluene).
I will definitely be recommending this place to the ladies (or men) who don't mind dishing out extra dollars on high quality service. 60 minute facials start at $105 and I would also recommend them as great gifts for lovers, mothers, sisters, etc.
I will definitely be coming back when I can afford it.
