My family and I were pretty excited when we came in to stay at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale. We are local but wanted to "get away" and bring the kids to swimming this past weekend.
Here are my observations:
When we arrived at the hotel, there was only 2 front office people who were accommodating guests while the other two front office people ignored the line.
There weren't toiletries provided (shampoo, soap and conditioner). Only towels were in there so I had to request for it.
The pillows had an unpleasant odor. I had to request new ones to be sent to our room.
The room service was slow, we waited about an hour to get our toiletries and pillows delivered.
The pool area was nice but didn't have servers going around that much. I had to keep on asking for this and that and it was frustrating.
Food was okay. Nothing special about anything we ordered.
For how much you will be paying for a traditional room per night, you would expect to be treated with luxury and comfort, and sad to say this resort didn't meet that expectation. I had a 2.5/5 star overall experience and I don't think I will be coming back soon.
