| - We were at the Mandalay Bay for the Dave Chapelle Show, and found ourselves without reservations, hungry and no one had immediate seating except for Aureole.
The restaurant is visually amazing, just gorgeous, and huge.... In the center is the most stunning three story wine display with women propelling themselves up and down on wire to retrieve a particular selection of wine, a quite beautiful performance if you ask me...
The dinner however, not such a beautiful performance......
We started with the hummus plate, hummus, baba ganoush & tzatziki with flat bread. This was really really bad! I love a good spicy hummus and love love love baby ganoush, this was really one of the worst I have ever had, the bread was hard and dry... absolutely previously frozen.
The Black Garlic Caesar Salad was good, and the Parmesan, Poppy Seed Tuille was tasty.
The Lion Fish Ceviche was okay..... really just okay... not fresh, nothing special at all.
The Ribeye Cap was absolutely not worth the price and very disappointing for a major Las Vegas Strip restaurant.
The Truffle Parmesan Fries tasted good but were just tiny broken pieces of fries, not a single one more than an inch in length, just crumbs.......
Service was outstanding, they were attentive and aware, but the real utter disappointment in the food quality was so bad, I know why there was ample seating available on such a busy night.
