Growing up in Phoenix, I've always been aware of this theater's existence. I just never went there until last week.
I. was blown. away.
Not only because of the movie I saw (Kings of Summer is a deliciously retrospective look at growing up. I highly suggest it.) but also because of the retro vibe that comes from the theater itself.
It was very clearly designed in the 70's or 80's, and the entirety of the building reflects that. But in the same way, it is beautiful, small, and personal.
There is no better way to see an independent film in Phoenix than at this intimate theater.
(They're also really chill about outside food and drinks. Just don't flaunt it, and they'll let you bring it in.)
