| - While it appears to be of something awesome by its outer and inner appearance, sadly, it wasn't for me with the food. BUT!
But here goes to my fair judgment. First impression, 5 stars! From the time we entered, to the hostess seating us and so forth...wonderful! I was excited to stare at the menu. The menu wasn't overwhelming nor was it needing more. Remember, tis all an opinion!
I was tossing between a bison burger which has pork belly, cilantro, and a couple more add-ons that I can't recall. I just kept reading pork belly, pork belly, pork belly. Lol. Not one to eat pork too often, although, I do enjoy some good home fried or bbq pork belly a few times in a year. So, passed on the bison burger. I ended up ordering the chicken caprese sandwich which is basically chicken, mozzarella, arugula, tomatoes, a drizzle of the balsamic glaze, and placed in tandoori bread. Which is pretty much a pita bread.
How boring I know. But I love caprese anything! Simple ingredients but it could easily be messed up! Plus, it was 7 something at night and i didnt really have the stomach for a burger even though deep down inside i was longing for one.
When I received my order I thought, aww....this looks deelish. I took a bite and thought damn, I need more of that balsamic glaze because there were droplets of it in my sandwich and I needed more since I could barely taste the balsamic. Waved our waiter down and he happily gave me more. Which by the way our waiter was always in sight! Alright, so more glaze to drench this sandwich in.
I didn't really care for this type of sandwich with the tandoori bread. It felt sloppy. It was like eating this giant taco with each bite I had to ensure I gripped that sucker or else it'd fall apart. Annnnd if you didn't bite into it methodically it could get messy. But, probably because I added a little more glaze? Not sure. But it was a little uncomfortable biting into considering it is labeled as a sandwich.
The fries were crispy with a mush. I don't even know how that happens, but I liked it. Didn't get the parmesan fries for a 2.5 dollar upgrade...so regular fries it was.
I can only offer 2 stars because of the staff and ambiance. My food wasn't something that blew me away or thought, hell yes I'll be back for THAT caprese sandwich. The husband ordered the sandwich that had the apples, brie, and grapes? He usually likes that combo but he too thought twas pretty basic. It truely felt it lacked effort. I mean, how exciting can you make a caprese sandwich. Believe me, I've had perfectly executed caprese whether twas a salad, slider, flatbread, bruschetta, etc....you get it. This really was pretty blunt.
Will I be back? Ummm....maybe just to try the other things in hopes to up my review. How soon? Probably not that soon because there are so much more other eateries there for me to experience first. Will I recommend it? Ummm...probably wouldn't be a place during a convo where I'd even mention it! Nothing memorable. But I wouldn't count them out only because it was my first time there and I only tried 1
food off their item.
I do love, though, how they serve each child a bowl of complimentary fruit as all the adults read through the menu. They were very quick to bring that out. That's the way to shut these gremlins up so us adults can focus. Lol.
You try for yourself kind of place.
Definitely kid and stroller friendly! Oh, and a highchair with an actual working buckle!
