| - I called this store because the person who I went to at another Fantastic Sams was no longer at the store I used to use. I spoke to Tommy and made an appointment for noon. I discussed with Tommy what I wanted, and asked about his background, etc. because I was new to the area. When I arrived at the shop Tommy said he was running a little late, and I agreed that was OK. BUT a couple of minutes later they turned me over to Rhonda with no explanation, whatever why Tommy would not let me keep my appointment. Well, I should have left the store after taking one look at her. But just because her hair looked horrible (with ugly turquoise streaks) that doesn't mean she would be a bad hair stylist. Boy was I wrong.
I wanted highlights and she preferred doing them with a cap, to which I was agreeable. Well, she pulled my hair through, put the color on it, and I waited in the chair while it did its work. When she was ready to wash my hair out, she realized it was the wrong color blond, and added a toner.
Then she went to cut my hair, and things went from bad to worse. I am a senior citizen and have been having my hair cut for many years, but this was by far the worse cut ever. She did a little trim, and then I asked her to stop, and told her I wanted to leave.
The reason I wanted this done was because I was going out of town to my father's funeral, and wanted to look nice for the services.
When I got home, I shampooed my hair and the color was terrible, it did not blend at all, and the way she did it did not even go all the way to the roots of my hair, there are patches where it still did not get color, and looks like I took a paintbrush and tried to do it myself and did a terrible job.
When I left the store, she wanted to know why I was angry with her, and I told her that I had made an appointment with Tommy and did not know why they passed me off to her, and that I was going to write a letter to the manager about the lousy color and haircut.
Needless to say, I sure won't be going back there. There was no reason whatsoever Tommy could not have kept the appointment which I made, because I indicated I would wait. I had checked the reviews here and found that he had good reviews, so I was OK with going to him.
If you decide to go here, make sure you get the person you want, not someone who is foisted off on you because the good guy was too busy to keep his appointment.
