| - Stayed at this hotel for a few days. Was nice. I think the price for the space offered for the corner room is pretty outrageous. On top of that, as a guest they charge a fee per day for valet or self parking. I understand it is "downtown" Phoenix, but only thing there working in their favor is the 2 arenas across the street. If those weren't there that area would be a ghost town.
The hotel is kept very clean, however our room had chocolate smeared and caked into the carpet that we wiped up ourselves. It was under the living room area table, i can see how it could be missed.
One of the days we stayed at the hotel I walked down to order some food and relax a little and the restaurant I guess was rented for the day, so the only way to get any food off the menu was to order room service. Well I was fine with that, but they wanted to charge the service fee plus the delivery fee. Since I was forced to order this way, I requested that be removed and it was. I shouldn't have to request it, next time it should just offered to be off the bill.
We did visit the pool area, that was nice. I had a half full beer I brought down and sat on the table while I went in the pool. The server was walking around and picks up my beer and dumps it in the trash, telling me no outside beverages allowed. Well, i understand that, no problem, but you don't have to dump my drink in the process and make guest out to be a criminal, then offer to get me a drink at the bar. I would have walked the drink out or finished and ordered another one, but that was a option I had so again, forcing me to do something...I didn't order a drink at the pool and I actually wanted one.
The fridge in the room is filled with random drinks. You can take them out and use the fridge for medicine or whatever else you like, as long as you put the drinks back. If you use any or lose any you will be charged for them. The menu is right there with the pricing.
The bathroom is real nice in the corner suite. The tub is inside the shower area, and it is a big space. Shower pressure was perfect, and the design of the shower was really impressive.
The valet guys are great at their job. They remembered our vehicle each time I was pulling up and addressed us promptly by name. I loved being able to call for my car on the way down and have it ready for me. I had no problem tipping them, even though I was paying $30 per day to valet my car.
I would probably check out another hotel in the area, compare pricing before staying here again.
