| - I typically wouldn't ever write a review for a place that I didn't get a service from, but this place is the exception.
There were four of us wanting to get piercings, and we called ahead to make sure the piercer was in. We were quoted $30 for a cartilage piercing on the phone, and the piercer was working late, so we decided to stop in.
We walked into the shop, labeled only "tattoo," and I immediately heard someone coughing up a lung. I crossed my fingers that it wasn't the piercer, but was horrified to find that the source of the cough was actually coming from The piercer. He was also super stoned, with bloodshot, glassy eyes, who we saw taking a bong hit as we walked towards him. He also told us that the cost for a cartilage was $60 for a piercing, which is more than he quoted us on the phone.
We asked to see the jewelry options, and he said that he didn't have the jewelry out for us to look at, but "I'll obviously show you before I put it in your ear."
The shop environment as a whole gave a really bad vibe. It was dirty, dingy, the workers all seemed more stoned than they should be for doing tattoos or piercings. There were also a ton of people coming in and out of the shop. It felt more like I was walking into someone's garage party than a professional tattoo shop.
I was pretty confused by all of the other 5 star reviews. Even if this place had somehow turned out an amazing product, and we were able to walk away without getting an infection from the constant hacking coming from the piercer, the atmosphere was disgusting and the cleanliness was questionable. It was gross. Absolutely.
We left the shop immediately, and will not be back.
