| - 6 months of the year this place rocks, the rest it sucks. The patio is amazing, during the summer, sit on the patio and watch Queen Street go by. In the winter months when the patio is closed they do everything possible to not impress.
Went in with three friends and wanted to get a jug of draught beer - every bar sells pitchers of draught, not this one, the only sell glasses. We ordered our beer and I also ordered a Caesar, in every other bar I have been in a Caesar comes with a celery stalk or a bean or some interesting garnish. The Black Bull goes so far to garnish a Caesar with a slice of lime. Good thing we ordered chicken wings because there was a stalk of celery there for my lonely Caesar.
Overall, unless it's summer this place offers nothing original. They don't even "try hard". If it wasn't a great location it could not survive. Luckily after we left we found way cooler pubs with creative drink menus with enthusiastic management and staff.
Skip this place unless you look for less than average, or it's summer and the patio is open. Our bill came to about $75 with food and drinks, the next place we stopped at we had better drinks, food and more fun, and we spent more $.
The bathrooms have not improved and the servers are just as disinterested.
