| - I stopped by here this past Wednesday evening with my wife, her parents and her brother for dinner. The inside of YC's Mongolian looks like like most Mongolian restaurants with a large buffet like bar, a couple of circular grills and then some seating. How YC's differs from our Mongolian Grills back in Pittsburgh is that their meat is frozen and they also have mixed sauce suggestions. If you have never been to a Mongolian grill before the premise is simple. You are given a bowl that you fill up with whatever meats, vegetables and carbs that you want. Then you pair a sauce with it and it gets cooked on the grill and handed back to you.
On this occasion I went with the unlimited bowl while my wife went with the large bowl. All of my trips produced very similar items in the fact that I got chicken, beef, water chestnuts, broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers and pineapple. The only differences between my bowls were the sauces as I twice went with Thai peanut curry and once missed their spicy sauce all while adding chili oil to each. All three times I ended up enjoying my bowl. It's nice to be able to customize it to your own personal preferences. By the time I left the restaurant I was incredibly satisfied and stuffed. Then within an hour of finishing eating I had some issues and my wife had different issues the next morning. Can I prove that they were YC's fault? Nope I cannot, however, I have my suspicions.
The bottom line for me is that I probably wouldn't come to YC's again in the future. While I was happy and satisfied with the food while I was there, I certainly wasn't later in the evening turning a 4 star review into 3 stars.
UPDATE: The owner of YC's contacted me on Yelp the day after my review was posted . He let me know that he was glad that we enjoyed our meal but sorry that we had issues afterward and that they take food safety seriously. He also gave me a number to contact him. That alone should show you that the owner does care about his establishment and what goes on their and gives me a much more favorable view of YC's.
