  • To Whom it may concern, One month ago I had an office visit with Dr Abdi Raissi at Desert Orthopedic Center at 2800 East Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas NV 89121. Dr Raissi told me my condition could be taken care of with surgery and booked the operation for June 13, 2017. The day before the surgery I received a call around 9:30 am to confirm the surgery time. At 1 pm I received another call from Alayah to notified that there was an issue with my insurance. According to her the Insurance company said that she had the wrong policy number. I asked Alayah to stay on the phone with me while I called the insurance company so that wouldn't go back and fourth and so we can get the issue resolved. She told me she couldn't because she had clinicals. The 10 mins we were on the phone going back and fourth about her not having time; we could have used it productively with the insurance company but instead she argued with me about needing to get back to clinicals. I therefore called the insurance company on my own and was told the information that Alayah gave me was incorrect. They told me a referral was never submitted. I called the office back and asked for a supervisor. They told me her name was Rosa Rodriguez and she would be calling me right back; this was around 1:50pm. Rosa never called me back so I had to go back into the office 10 mins until 5pm and they called Rosa for me. Rosa made me repeat the entire story again just to say " Dr Raissi said " he could not assist me any further". The entire staff lied to me over a mistake they made concerning my referral. For one month I have tolerated this pain entrusting that Dr Raissi was going to perform surgery. However, the Day before; my surgery is cancelled and now I have to start all over. The staff nor the doctor seemed to care. I felt so disrespected in every way. This is not how anyone should ever be treated. I had explained to the doctor from the very first apt that my husband was deploying and I had to use my time wisely. All the time and energy I wasted because of him and his staff is not acceptable. No doctor should have the right to treat his/ her patient the way I have been treated. I will say that Kimberly and Jennifer at the front desk were very nice and helpful. They did all the could and it was obvious they cared. Respectfully, JoAnn Alvarez
