I'm a fan! Big fan! La Prima has so much character and reflects a great deal of the spirit of Pittsburgh. Few facts you need to know about La Prima:
- One of the best coffee in Pittsburgh, hands down. You walk in; there are three things:
1- You hear people speakin-eh Italian.
2- The smell of fresh warm pastries and hot aromatic lovely coffee slap your face saying come get me.
3- Baristas at the coffee bar and the bakery are super friendly and welcoming.
- No seats, just bar-style round high tables. There are outside seats for the warm days.
- Although I'm an espresso or just black dark roast coffee guy, but the cappuccino was robust, flavorful and incredible!! It tastes the best with a pastry from Colangelo's.
- It's a MUST if you're visiting the Burgh and Strip District.
- Next door is Colangelo's bakery. They have amazing fresh-out-of-the-oven pastries!! Try the danish or torta di mele! It's good for a quickie breakfast. Cannoli and sfogliatella are just ok.
Overall, you'll walk out with a smile on your face. La Prima, grazie mille, mi hai fatto felice!
