We had a pipe burst under our kitchen sink around 3am on a Saturday. Thankfully the sound of the water woke me up shortly after the fact and I was able to quickly shut it off. Without my requesting it, Parker & Sons (who was hired to come by and cap the pipe) had a rep from Dry Force come over to assess water damage. After a five minute visual inspection and a few waves of a moisture detector, the rep told me with a very grim look on his face that the "damage was extensive" and promptly threw together a quote totaling over $2,000 - most of which was attributed to setting up fans for drying the wet areas. I was told that I needed to act fast or mold could begin to develop, potentially causing thousands in additional expenses for removal. Instead, I got a second and third opinion that same day. Both companies told me the only restoration I'd need amounted to $150 in laminate flooring and recommended an anti-mold/mildew product I could purchase for $10 at Home Depot to spray under the sink. It appears to me that Dry Force is the restoration equivalent of an ambulance chasing lawyer who swoops in to close a predatory deal while emotions and stress levels are high. If you find yourself dealing with this company, please do yourself a favor and get multiple quotes.
