| - After having come to Elmwood for more than 5 visits, I can comment on a few areas of improvement. My original review still stands (beautiful space, change rooms are well lit, love the jacuzzi inside the changerooms, etc), but some additional experiences that make the spa experience less zen-like.
First, the specials and the discounts are so numerous they make my head spin. Between the birthday treat that can't be used with the spa passport, the spa passport that can't be used with another discount, the other discount that can't be used on services less than $$, the days they can't be used, the gift cards, the coupon codes, etc. etc. Goodness! I spend about 5 minutes checking out each time, with tons of time spent checking and double-checking my restrictions! Too complicated! I always love a deal, but when the fine print reads like the Tax Act, it kinda takes away from the spa feeling.
Another thing is that due to the larger size of the spa, on a busy week (like March Break), there were so many people that I could hear the chatter through the door. Again, when I'm paying top shelf prices, I come to expect a certain experience. I feel more relaxed in the changerooms than in the therapy rooms, at this point!
