| - I've been to this Pep Boys location a number of times, twice for an oil change and once for new tires. Even though the reviews weren't great, I still went because the location could not be more convenient for me-- close to my place, access to bus lines, etc. During three visits, I've had quite a range of outcomes. For my first visit, I got an oil change-- I had a coupon, service was quick, and I had no problems. On my second visit, I needed new tires; the service was fine, but very slow (took more than 2 hours longer than they originally stated) and prices were a little on the high side. My third (and final visit) was for another oil change (since I'd had no problems before); again, service for this was quick, prices were fine and I thought that would be the end of it; however, on a drive to Cleveland that afternoon, I started smelling oil and pulled over to check my engine. When I popped the hood, I found that the cap to my oil had not been screwed back on, and while luckily, it was caught in the hood so I could put it back on, my engine block had a film of oil on it from where it had been sloshing out during the drive. While the Pep Boys staff was professional and accommodating when I gave them a call about this (I went back in and they cleaned the engine for me), I think I'll be finding somewhere else to get an oil change.
