I was invited to Energy Shack's opening today. It was a great opportunity to learn about the benefits of juices with my +1 (my 65 years old mother). We were both very impressed by Energy Shack. My mom who barely even knows how to use her phone, took it out to make note of each of the juices. It was a true testament to Energy Bar!
The owner Carolyn Nichol explained her intention behind each item on the menu. As a holistic nutritionist, she tailors meals to support your health. Her juices are developed for healing.
We sampled a few drinks including cold pressed vegetables juice, nut milks and smoothies. My favorites are their velvety cashew coconut milk and cleansing green boost smoothie! Most almonds in North America are pasteurized, the almonds used at Energy Shack are imported from Spain. Energy Shack's almond milk has a jasmine undertone to it. It is surprisingly similar to the flavors of Chinese almonds!
Our lunch was a plant based meal with corn chips, vegan chili, salsa, guacamole, tofu sour cream and cashew cheese sauce! It was walking a fine line between the good and the naughty.
I look forward to my next visit to Energy Shack! It's exciting to find a juice bar in Scarborough!
