As a Matt, and as a breakfast lover this was a slam dunk.
As far as airport food goes, this is one of the better places I've had and with reasonable prices. I think it was around $9 for the Five Spot Platter and around $8 for the egg salad sandwich. Both were big portions and I distinctly remember the bacon in the Five Spot Platter being extra-large, juicy, and thick.
Sometimes, after a long flight you want to get fed and filled up like a dump truck. Matt's will take care of that for you. It was also close to our American Airlines terminal.
Also, it was open late which is a relief because as it turns out there are a ton of options to eat in this airport but a lot of them aren't open late (11pm or later).
I should also shout-out our waitress. She was an absolute hoot. Being from drought-stricken California, I asked for water tentatively. She responded by ribbing me and saying she would have to check if "water" was on the menu. All in good fun and she was super attentive even though Matt's was packed. Must be the whole open-late thing.
Very hefty, very filling, and because everyone says breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I would recommend putting Matt at the top of your list of places to eat in Phoenix's airport.
