I was in Scottsdale for a classic car event but eager for some local culture. I've enjoyed a fair number of tours and museums over the years and the Frank Lloyd Wright tour was nearby. The reviews were mostly positive. However, I was quite disappointed. Maybe I visited on an off day? The tour guide seemed uninformed and lacked command of the subject. She struggled to answer fairly easy questions from visitors and would stumble for words. The facility itself is interesting but far from awe inspiring. There certainly should have been a short film with interviews and photos for an overview the man and his accomplishments. Ninety minutes later I learned less about the great Mr. Wright from this boring tour than 10 minutes on Wikipedia. Worse yet, the cost of $34.00 was at least double what I'd consider reasonable for something like this. I've enjoyed much better tours for far less. I'd skip this and invest in one the many fine photo books on Wright's works instead.
