All of my "Good Egg" visits have been to the Gilbert location and assumed "a good egg is a good egg". It's not.
The dish I LOVE in Gilbert isn't offered at this location. Apparently they lack pesto and feta to make it happen. It's a dish that's no longer featured on the menu but was suggested one morning by my server when I was ordering a similar dish.
When I ordered it here, my server said they don't have that dish. I asked if she could check with the chef to see if they could make it anyway. He came out and apologized for not having the ingredients but would be happy to make me a similar dish that is even better.
OK!
It was gross. The mushrooms were slimmy. The cheese wasn't melted. It was an all around failure.
I appreciated his efforts but I couldn't stomach the dish.
After we paid, he asked how it was and I told him it's wasn't great, I actually didn't even finish it.
He said, "oh well, we tried" and walked away.
It wasn't just that.
It was my water glass sitting empty for the majority of my meal. Having to ask for silverware. Wondering if our server had been abducted.
All in all, I'm not going back.
