| - To start out, I've been going here since I was a little girl. This place is sentimental to me, & I normally love going here.
Then I started going with my soccer team in high school. The lines were freakishly insane, it was blistering hot, & there was no shade, or entertainment to help the wait go by faster. We also had no idea how long we'd be in line for except for on Night Hawk, but they only have one sign that says 2 hours.
I just came back today after the first time of being there for a while with my boyfriend. My boyfriend had never been. We came on a cloudy & kinda misty day, so it wasn't hot & it was also Monday & we thought it would be a not busy day. Boy were we wrong about busy day because I think all the middle schools in the area came to Carowinds.
To start with, we got on a few rides, nothing really happened. A lot of rides broke down as we were waiting in line for them, which is quite annoying because that just took time away from everything we wanted to do.
Then we got on the Afterburn. This was actually quite terrifying & I may not be returning after this incident. The ride stopped running as we were going up to the first drop off. We already heard a pretty bad noise, but we thought nothing of it because I've never had a bad experience here. Once the ride broke down, they came up & checked on us. Next thing we know, they said "ready for dispatch" & they sent us through... honey I wanted off. It was almost as if we were test riders. That's seriously not okay, & very uncomfortable. They began test running the ride afterwards.
Also, the prices are RIDICULOUS. I got two quesadillas & waters for 32 dollars. Absolutely ridiculous I couldn't believe it. All other food options were ridiculous & what blows my mind Is that Chick-fil-A only has 2 options... that is sad. I wish they'd honestly close it down & put something with more use there.
The workers have the attitude of I'd rather be dead than be here. For paying upwards of almost 200 dollars, you'd think that they'd show a little more concern. One woman was testing my seat buckle, & it came up a little too far than expected, & she whispered under her breath, but I could still hear it "eh she'll be fine". & proceeded to go about checking everyone else. Another guy came by & checked my seat belt & he kept his hand down there way too long & made me very uncomfortable & pissed my boyfriend off very badly. Then my boyfriend checked it & my seatbelt came undone. So he was more focused on keeping his hand down there rather than checking for it coming undone. Rather disappointing.
Overall, Carowinds has gone to shit. I'm pretty disappointed on how our day went.
