Our pets are like our kids, so we are understandably protective when we leave them with others. We used to leave our dogs with our vet, whom we trust, until they revealed that they (our vet, not DD) only let them out of the kennel 3 times a day for 5 minutes each time. Not acceptable in my book. For that reason, we began seeking out other options.
When we took a tour of Doggie District, they make their business very transparent while in action. They gave a full tour & showed us the kennels where the dogs sleep, the indoor play rooms when it's too hot outside and the outdoor playground ... with actual playground equipment. Very cool. They have 3 different play areas for three different sized dogs and showed us how they can temporarily seperate individual dogs when they get stressed from being around other dogs. For no fee, they required our dog to spend the day there to make sure she it would be a fit for her.
The added touches they give make all the difference to us. While we were away for a week in the Caribbean, they emailed us a letter with pictures of our very big Mastif puppy enjoying herself. They also show an interest in our dog when we arrive. You can tell these people love dogs.
I'm happy with this place & will continue to use them as needed for vacations. Although it costs almost twice as much per day as our vet, it's better to have piece of mind that our dog gets personalized attention and doggie social time.
Nice business concept.
