  • I hate to echo Mark W's sentiments but our job was extremely rushed as well. We contacted COTOB to take out a tree in our front yard and grind the stump and trim a palm in our backyard. Scheduling was quick and easy. On the day of our appointment, one team came out to take care of the tree in the front and another team showed up to do the palm. First team did a good job (although we did receive a follow up phone call asking if they left one of their blowers there which seemed a little odd) but the second team FLEW through trimming the palm which resulted in palm fronds taking out a number of my plants and breaking a sprinkler which prevented me from turning on my sprinklers for a few days which in the dead of summer isn't exactly ideal. (We called them immediately afterwards and they agreed to send out a sprinkler specialist so I have to give them credit for that but it should have been avoided in the first place.) My biggest concern with the palm trimming was the intensity in which they were throwing the palm fronds onto our electrical wires. We live in South Scottsdale and can see all of our neighbors lines very easily and our neighbors' lines were shaking nearly as much as ours. Cliffnotes version: Pros: Easy to schedule Trees looked good Price Cons: Rushed work Crushed some of my plants (there is pavement right next to the garden so they could have easily avoided this by throwing the fronds down onto the pavement) VERY easily could have taken out our power lines We have two more palms that we need trimmed in our front yard and as much as I wanted to love COTOB and give them our continued business, the rushed work just makes me extremely nervous so we will most likely be calling another tree company in the area.
