  • So I drove from Scottsdale over to the West Side to pick up a pre-paid gun I ordered online. Nothing scary, a .22 plinker. This is something that usually takes (paperwork and all) maybe 15 minutes at Bass Pro - my usual choice- not much more at Walmart, Jeez, I whizzed away my lunch hour here and still didn't get the order. What a production! First the info counter guy was busy jawing with somebody that he must have had a date with later that night, and several others wanted his attention. So I wandered over to the Gun Library on my own. The place was packed with a lot of people that I wouldn't pass for gun ownership, but hey, it's a free country. After elbowing my way to the counter just to ask where to make a pick-up, I found one, yes one, person behind the counter. Fortunately, I quickly caught someone coming out of the back area who sent me to the right counter...I thought. I get over there and there's one more person working the entire area that has like 6-7 stations. He notices me and says - move to the other counter, nope that's not right...move to the other side, NOPE, still not right...go stand over by the cooler... what the? Should I stick my right foot in and stick my right foot out and spin all about??? How about an "Online Orders" sign? We are adults here. Eventually, a young lady comes out of the back and greets me (the one star). But then she says we have several people ahead of you, but we can start the paperwork. Nope - several people at this speed could be a couple of hours... I politely pass and walk out. Gotta go back to work to pay for what I buy. It's Bass Pro Shops for me from now on.I will be making ONE trip back to complete this paid transaction (easier than the refund dance), but that's it! Note to management: If you are that busy, HIRE SOME PEOPLE! I notice some of these posters suggest "be prepared to wait". Nope. This was mid-day on a Tuesday and you lost me on the very first visit.
