  • Although there are a ton of options on places to stay when in Vegas, consider being a local for a bit and stay at South Point Hotel! A beautiful, step up from average, hotel and casino that's actually on Las Vegas Blvd but not on the strip. South of what you'd call the strip, by maybe 2 miles, sits the South Point that has more than what you'll get staying on the strip! We've stayed here multiple times as we wouldn't dream of staying on the strip! A huge casino floor with everything you'll find on the strip without being gargantuan! Above average buffet, for off strip casinos, that have specialty nights and nightly made to order stations. Their coffeehouse, as locals would call it, is a dying thing in Vegas as you have a harder time finding these 24/7 cafes with the graveyard specials! The rooms are extra large for their standard rooms by Vegas standards, and the pool is one of the nicer off strip pools without being one of the "party pools". They have a large bingo parlor, don't laugh til you try it, large bowling alley, and a really modern movie theater! Make a point to get their free "players card" and you'll save money on their dining options. It's certainly a safe and fun environment for you and your kids!
