| - I went to One Zo Tapioca for their grand opening BOGO sale on September 23, 2017. There was a long lineup at 8pm, which suggested that its marketing had worked and that there was a lot to expect from their drinks. The AC was on the weaker side, so if they do continue to have large volumes of clients, don't expect to feel the most comfortable while waiting. At least the decor is nice with their use of a fake fire place and wooden fixtures.
For the free drink we got from the BOGO sale, it was limited to the OneZo Milk Tea/ Green Tea with caramel or crystal tapioca in the regular size. Mind you, the crystal tapioca is regular tapioca, so I opted for cararmel instead. My customization was half sugar and no ice, which is my usual go to combination. However, what I received was a somewhat lukewarm milk tea that was weak in flavour. Half sugar with no ice for milk teas generally results in drinks that are still very sweet and cool, at least at big competitors like Chatime, Gong Cha, and Co Co. Plus, their homemade flavoured tapioca may be their signature feature, but when the cararmel tapioca I had tasted was mushy and almost flavourless, this feature is nothing more than insignificant. Props to them for trying to push the boundaries with homemade tapioca in unusual flavours like catcus and bamboo charcoal. However, their flavour and texture are unappetizing, so I give it a thumbs down for poor execution.
