| - YES! I'm so glad Poutineville finally made it's way to Toronto! My experience in Toronto was MUCH better than when I went to Montreal.. it's probably because in Montreal I tried to be all healthy and ordered sweet potato fries and they were mushy and underwhelming. Who was I trying to kid? If I'm ordering a poutine, I might as well go all the way and have real fries.. ANYWAY, here I got a custom poutine with gravy, mushrooms, corn and vegan cheese. The fries were perfectly crisp, and piping hot, just the way I like em. I don't know why I thought corn in poutine would be a good idea, but it really didn't add much to it. They used Daiya vegan cheese which kinda clumped up when it cooled which I wasn't a big fan of. I'm definitely just going to skip the cheese all together next time.. But the mushrooms and the gravy were ON POINT. Did you know that their original poutine gravy is vegan? Yeah, amazing right?! The gravy was really rich in flavour and had the perfect consistency; not too runny, not too thick.
It's still hard for me to justify paying $15 for potatoes and gravy, but it seems like all foods are costing an arm and a leg in downtown Toronto these days..
This spot is also VERY spacious. I was so shocked when I walked in! It's a great place to chill, grab a drink, watch the game, and enjoy some kickass poutine :)
