This is a decent spot to tuck yourself away in and grab a pub lunch and pint or two, especially if you're looking during lunchtime or mid-afternoon. But overall I am not super impressed with the food or service, at least, not for the prices that they charge.
The menu features standard pub fare with few deviations from the norm. The speed of service seems to be completely unrelated to the rate at which your food comes out - it has been both busy and slow when I've been there and the food hasn't come out faster one time or another.
The food itself is not too terribly impressive. The best menu item is the most banal - chicken wings with fries. Served with a frosty pint, they have more than convinced me they aren't completely fumbling in the kitchen. However, there are some disappointments including the steak sandwich and the "warm chicken salad" which isn't pleasant as not only is the chicken warmed up but also the salad and the greens, it seemed. I also had an attempt at a BLT which was not very successful and I actually left most of it on the plate.
The other thing about the Fox and Fiddle is that it generally isn't my type of pub. The feel is way too "sports bar" and that includes the patrons after about 4pm or so. They do have drinks specials and martini nights which I presume are to appeal to the ladies but overall I find the place unsuitable for conversation and lacking in any other kind of (non-sports) diversion.
