| - I came to this salon because of the positive yelp reviews.
I booked an appointment with the stylist Jay for a haircut. I loved the process and the product(hair wash, consult, haircut, final product)
On the day of my appointment I called to let them know I would be late. I was 30 minutes late and they accommodated me.
When you enter you go to reception and state your purpose for being there. They then seat you and take your things to put in a locker. Then a staff member takes you to the back of the salon to wash your hair. The hair wash lasted a long time (don't remember exact time in minutes), which was very relaxing. During the wash, they give you the famous scalp massage that all the Yelpers keep raving about. It was nice.
After the long hair wash, they bring you to your station and offer a shoulder massage. It was relaxing.
This is where the stylist came in. Jay speaks Mandarin/Cantonese and English. He kept apologizing for his English, but his English was fine and we communicated well. I chose him because of positive reviews I had read. He consulted with me before the cut. We discussed my hair thickness, thinness, how it grows, and how it should be cut to accommodate all that. He is the first hair stylist to have this conversation with me. I'm a mixed Asian woman and my hair varies in thickness depending on where it is growing. Back of my head=very thick hair. Side/front=not as thick, but not too thin either.
After the consult, he did a couple of snips with my hair wet, then blow-dried it and cut the rest dry. He was meticulous and careful with my hair. He was also very honest in how to style my hair in a way that is most complimenting.
I'll definitely come back when I need another haircut :)
