| - What a nice little gem we found! We go to Vegas 3-4 times a year and try to visit someplace new every trip. This place was on the radar so we checked it out. We didn't stay at the hotel, nor try any of the restaurants, but we did drop some money in the casino and gave ourselves a tour to help plan our next trip.
The casino seemed to keep going, and going, and oh look, another room with slots. But wait - there's more upstairs! We definitely found almost every slot machine from the past decade (or two), which was fun. I found a couple oldies I love, but be careful, they've adjusted for inflation so they aren't $1.50 max bet, but now $4.
They had enough tables for those interested in cards - and they have lower min bet than the strip. I missed my favorite game though, High Card Flush. It's possible I just didn't see it - but if they got that game in, I might just spend the night there!
I found the people working there to be delightfully friendly. Except for the cocktail waitress that never returned with my drink, everyone was very helpful. We were sad to see the show in the garden was not running because it's being upgraded, but it's on the agenda for our next trip to make sure we have a seat in the bar se we can enjoy. We will definitely eat at one of the many restaurants next trip as well.
The crowd felt more local than the strip, and it was 50+ day so a lot of older folks were having fun, including me since I just joined that 50+ group, although I felt young there.
Exiting the parking lot was a little weird. Once we found the signs that pointed us to behind the parking structure and through the RV camp, we were good. We passed a few other casino's in that area, but they aren't stacked up one against the other like other areas so you're looking at getting in the car if you want to explore outside Sam's Town. Luckily, they have a WalMart across the street which beats the touristy Walgreens and CVS Pharmacies lining the strip.
Overall though I was very impressed. Looking forward to seeing what offers we might receive in the mail now that's we've visited as honestly - it's the free play and camped meals that help determine were we visit.
