We love the Pittsburgh Zoo. Yes, the terrain the very hilly....but where isn't it like this in Pittsburgh?! Picnic lunches are welcomed and at $16 per adult and $14 per child, if you're a local it's really worth getting the $95 year long family membership. If the hills are an issue, there is a tram (usually runs on the busy summer months) that you can take. Most of the food stops take credit but if your child wants to ride the carousel, I think it's cash only. The new islands area is quite nice and there's a huge sand area there. The only downsides of the park on my opinion is if you have to park in the gravel lot ( all parking is free though) and that there is not a designated breastfeeding area. Their website says they welcome nursing but if you want a little privacy, you're not getting it here. It would be nice to add one there! Overall, we love the zoo and would recommend it to locals and visitors to the area!
